BD-Brut-140-mg

Category:

BD Brut 140 mg contains Ibrutinib, a potent Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor used in the treatment of several types of blood cancers, primarily those involving B-lymphocytes.

It is a targeted oral therapy that has revolutionized the management of conditions like chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) by offering a less toxic and more convenient alternative to conventional chemotherapy.

Taken once daily, BD Brut offers sustained disease control in many patients, especially those who are elderly or unfit for intensive therapy.

Mechanism of Action

Ibrutinib irreversibly binds to and inhibits BTK, a key enzyme in the B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway.

  • BTK is critical for the activation, survival, and proliferation of B-cells.

  • In certain blood cancers, these B-cells become malignant and grow uncontrollably.

  • By blocking BTK, ibrutinib disrupts cancer cell signaling, leading to reduced survival, migration, and proliferation of abnormal B-cells.

  • This action causes cancerous B-cells to undergo apoptosis (programmed cell death) or become more vulnerable to immune clearance.

    Uses / Indications

BD Brut (Ibrutinib 140 mg) is approved or used for the treatment of:

    1. Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) – with or without 17p deletion.

    4. Marginal Zone Lymphoma (MZL) – in patients who have received prior therapy.

    5. Chronic Graft-Versus-Host Disease (cGVHD) – when other treatments have failed.
