Stemedil MD is a mouth-dissolving tablet containing Prochlorperazine maleate 5 mg, a medication with both antipsychotic and antiemetic properties. It is prescribed for managing severe nausea and vomitingvertigo or dizziness (such as in Ménière’s disease), and certain psychotic or anxiety conditions where short-term relief is needed.

    Mechanism of Action
Prochlorperazine primarily works by blocking dopamine D₂ receptors in the brain, especially in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) that controls nausea and vomiting. This reduces the vomiting reflex and has an antipsychotic effect through dopamine receptor blockade in the mesolimbic system, modulating neurotransmitter activity. There is also some serotonin 5‑HT₃ receptor antagonism, contributing to its antiemetic effect.
