Human Albumin I.P. 20% Solution

How It Works:

Hemalb 20% works by increasing the colloid osmotic pressure in the bloodstream, helping draw fluid into blood circulation and support plasma volume. Human albumin also acts as a transport protein in the body. Human albumin 20% solutions have a strong colloid osmotic effect and are used to support circulating plasma volume when medically required.

Potential Indications:

  • Hypovolemia / low blood volume
  • Shock due to blood or fluid loss
  • Burns
  • Low albumin levels / hypoalbuminemia
  • Ascites-related albumin replacement after large-volume paracentesis
  • Dialysis-related low blood pressure or volume loss
  • Acute liver failure support
  • Other doctor-directed hospital use

Dosage & Storage:

Use only as directed by a qualified healthcare professional.
This medicine should be administered intravenously only by trained medical staff.
Do not self-administer.
Store as per the physical label and hospital pharmacy instructions. Human albumin 20% products are generally supplied as 20 g in 100 mL single-use bottles and should be protected from light; once opened, the remaining unused portion should be discarded.
Keep out of reach of children.

Important Safety Information:

Hemalb 20% should be used carefully under medical supervision, especially in patients with heart failure, kidney problems, severe anemia, dehydration, high blood pressure, pulmonary edema, or risk of fluid overload. Albumin infusion can worsen fluid overload if given too fast or in unsuitable patients, because biology enjoys making “add fluid” weirdly complicated.

Possible side effects may include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Flushing
  • Skin rash or itching
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Breathing difficulty
  • Swelling or fluid overload
  • Rare allergic or anaphylactic reaction

Because this product is made from human plasma, donor screening and viral inactivation steps reduce infection risk, but plasma-derived products may still carry a very small theoretical risk of transmitting infectious agents.

Label Verification:

Please double-check the physical product label before listing or use, including product name, strength, active ingredient, manufacturer details, batch number, expiry date, storage instructions, route of administration, and packaging information.
